Welcome to The Pride of Israel Synagogue website. Thank you for wanting to learn more about our organization. We are a vital part of the Jewish community around us, providing a place to daven, celebrate, commemorate and a force for Chesed through our weekly Kosher Food Bank.
There are many reasons to "Come grow with us!" We are a warm, friendly group and welcome people into our shul family. If you are able and have the desire and knowledge, you can volunteer to take part in services by leading a daily minyan or chanting a HafTorah.
As a family member, you are entitled to two High Holy Day tickets for yourself and your spouse. As a single member, you would receive one ticket.
If you have adult children or grandchildren you would be able to purchase seats for them at a lower price than the general public.
You have the services of the Clergy for life cycle events.
As a member under the age of 51, you AND your spouse, EACH have the right to unreserved cemetery plots as long as you have been members in good standing for a full year. A single member would be entitled to one unreserved plot.
If 51 and over and you have been a member for one full year you can purchase unreserved plots for one full year for a lower rate than the general public.
As a member celebrating a Bar or Bat Mitzvah, if you became a member prior to the simcha and remain a member for at least two years, you may be entitled to a rebate on the price of renting the social hall.
Why continue to "rent" seats year after year for Yom Tov, when you can make a different decision that supports the wider Jewish community and provides you with the sense of belonging? I encourage you to make that decision to turn a rented chair into a family legacy.
Please feel free to reach out to our Synagogue office at (416) 226-0111 ext. 201 and leave a message for me and I will phone you back.
Looking forward to hearing from you,
Membership Chair
